Change happens quick. I can illustrate. Go buy a 2 litter bottle of Diet Coke and a small package of mint-flavored mentos. Add the mentos to the bottle and for a millisecond, you will see the bottle start to shake. Then before you really know what you've got yourself into, diet coke is spewing 8 feet into the air.
I feel like Asa's "diet coke bottle" is shaking and an explosion is inevitable.
These are the changes we have witnesses in just the last 2 weeks...
- Asa loves to eat cherrios and I like to help.
- Skipping the military crawl, Asa went straight for crawling on his knees...everywhere...really fast.
- He is proving to have his daddy's rhythm. Not only is he clapping off beat but also missing his left hand and hitting his forearm instead.
- Asa is pulling up and today started letting go! Not a pleasant sight because he doesn't have any balance yet.
- Asa raced his nursery buddy, Tomothy, today to a crawling match.
- He got a new tooth (Upper Central Incisor).
- Already yelling "dadadada" and doing a sick motorboat, Asa has added "mamamamama" to his vocabulary.
- Last week, he got his first fever while we were leaving Daulphin Island...led to a rash...which turned into hives...saw lots of tears...including Devs. This made for a great 12 hour drive home.
I don't know what will happen when Asa's "bottle explodes", but we are hoping it isn't as messy as Diet Coke and Mint-Flavored Mentos.

Our Asa is changing daily. Can you imagine what he'll be like at Dauphin Island next year? Nope, he'll be way beyond his baby stage by then. Do you suppose I'll be able to teach him to say "Hunny" by then? Better start working on that one now. :)
well asa you are so lucky to have the parents you have! i'm truly impressed with you two being so observant with asa's milestones. hmmmmmm, these are characteristics of some really great parents-in-the-making. keep up the good work. poppop
Two things for sure:
1) Asa has wonderful parents and grandparents (on both sides), and
2) He won't stay a baby very long.
But both of these things bring great joy--we have the privilege of knowing these incredible families and then having the pleasure of watching Asa grow up right before our eyes!!!

it is definitely crazy how quickly things change! i'm more than impressed with your ability to remember all the little details of Asa's changes. you two are pretty great parents!
Let Asa know that if our little Crowder pea is a girl he has first dibs on her first date...when they turn 30... :)
