My Jingle Bell Rocker

Christmas is such a joyful time of year and I am always excited to see it come. This was especially true for me as a mom this year. Now that we have Asa to share it with, Christmas seems a little more fun. He loves the bright lights, dancing to Christmas songs, and I’m sure he’ll enjoy opening his gifts on Christmas morning.

Last year during Christmas, Asa was just a few weeks old. We dressed him up like a reindeer, but that was the extent of his Christmas participation. Sleep was much more important than gifts or family or twinkle lights...

This year Asa has played a very active role in our Christmas festivities and he's enjoying himself very much. So far:

Asa has a plethora of Christmas shirts, like this one. He's my Jingle Bell Rocker...

He has helped decorate, really de-decorate, the Christmas tree, which is now gated...

He has gone to visit Santa Claus...

And because he enjoyed the visit so much, Asa now has a Santa suit so he can dress the part. He also has his own Charlie Brown Christmas tree...
And that's just the stuff I have pics for. One of my favorite things we've done so far is looking at the Nativity scene with him. We talk about baby Jesus and all who came to see Jesus on the big night of His birth. Asa smiles as he touches all of the figurines and that warms my heart. But what truly makes me excited is know that someday he’ll understand the significance of that night and the birth of Christ. What an important and honorable job we have as parents to let our kids know about the real Gift of Christmas. Okay, I'm off the pulpit now...

We hope you all enjoy the Christmas season with your family and friends--Merry Christmas!

Have a joyous Christmas, and I know that the Baby Jesus that Asa touches in your manger scene, is real to him, and this will grow in his heart, according to your teaching...how blessed he is to have parents like yall to teach him of his Savior. God bless you all.
