"Sit quietly, doing nothing, spring comes, and the grass grows by itself."
We have yet to spend a spring in Boerne, but if it is anything like the Fall, the thought of sitting quietly & watching the grass grow is a joke. We have had a busy month! I will show some of the highlights...
ANNA & NATHAN'S WEDDING
Anna (my youngest sister) got married on October 3. She is the baby and the last of my siblings to get married. Awesome wedding. Here are a couple pictures.

50th ANNIVERSARY GALA
Then we were invited to a black tie affair along with Dev's brother Deke. His pediatric oncologist (Deke had leukemia at age 3) invited him and the family (OMee, OP, Dev & me) to go to the 50th Anniversary Gala of Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital. It was very hoity toity but fun. Asa stayed with Ellen Vonderhaar, his very first non-family member babysitter. She was awesome.

BOERNE HOT ROD RUN
That same weekend the annual Boerne Rod Run happened where tons of hot rod junkies brought their prize possessions to show them off on Main Street. They literally blocked off Main Street for what seemed like hundreds of suped up classic cars.

ASA'S HOSPITAL STAY
Then Asa had a brief stay in the hospital. There's a whole blog post dedicated to this, see Sleepless in San Antonio. A special thanks to Dev's mom for staying with us for the weekend to help with Asa.

PICS IN THE PUMPKIN PATCH
Once Asa was feeling better, we went to the Pumpkin Patch. Being the loving parents that we are, we took lots and lots of pictures. Dev says Asa's her favorite lil' Pumpkin... awwww!

SPURS GAME
Finally, me & Dev snuck away to a Spurs game. GO SPURS GO

ASA'S NEW TRICKS
Changing gears, Asa is doing new stuff...
-Shaking head NO and meaning it
-Waving hello & goodbye
-Making a clicking sound with his mouth
-Grinding his teeth (eesh)
-Got his first Goose Egg on his head
-His clinginess to momma has faded (YES!)
-He loves to bounce on the floor
-He is now walking with the help of mom & dad
-He gives kisses

Ya'll have certainly had a busy beginning of fall. The cooler temps makes everyone anxious to be outdoors. We are so thankful Asa's hospital adventure wrapped up with minimal agony. We will pray that it will be a solo event. OP and I love watching him change before our eyes. And isn't it adorable now that he likes to lay his head on your chest and then just when you think he's going to fall asleep, he pops up and gives you one of his award winning smiles. Again and again. Ohh so cute. The best pumpkin in the patch.
