The Story:
We have never been patient people. After the doctor said that Asa would probably come early, we did everything we could to make sure he would come early. What did we do?
1. Once she reached 38 weeks, she walked every day - up to 5 miles.
2. Dev began eating fresh pineapple before every meal.
3. Several times a day, Dev took primerose oil tablets.
However, there was no significant change after these attempts to coax the baby out. On this past Saturday, Devanee's parents came into town armed with a new strategy - castor oil. Yes, I did say castor oil and no this stuff did not die out with the dinosaurs. Believe it or not, they still sell this nasty stuff at your local drugstore. Energized by the hope of a new tactic, Dev forced down two tablespoons of castor oil that evening. Six hours later, the castor oil hit and her water broke.
We arrived at the hospital, bright eyed & bushy tailed at 5:45am. Seven hours after nestling into our room and with the help of an epidural, Asa decided to bless us with his presence. The labor was quick and smooth. There were no problems or complications. It was perfect.
