This morning we met up with the Jacobus boys and Mrs. Marsha at the Convention Center for a program called "A day in Africa." We knew since Stu, Adrienne, and Adam were in Africa, we had to go spend a day in Africa, too. The program had all sorts of African instruments, cloth, statues, and a lady by the name of Miss Elizabeth who grew up in Kenya and told us about Africa. She mentioned Nigeria a few times and we would all look at each other and smile. We were excited to make the small connection with the fact that we knew people, people we love dearly, over in Nigeria.
The picture above happens to be within the first two minutes we were there. All of the pictures after this would be a blur because Asa was all over the place. Someone must have put some caffeine in his juice bottle this morning because the kid wouldn't sit down. Luckily he wasn't disturbing the program, but he did traipse all over the convention center. His favorite spot seemed to be the Coke Machine down the hall b/c when he hit it, the machine sounded like a drum. Speaking of drums, he loved the African music they played and did what I'd like to name "The Windmill" dance. I got a little bit of it on video, so watch it below or go to this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18xXK9fbweQ
The rest of the day was filled with naps, eating, and playing with Omee for Asa. I headed to the church to work on camp stuff (12 days out tomorrow!) and then on to the rental to finish cleaning. Thanks to Tammy for helping me with it! Tomorrow, I will turn in the keys and we'll be done with that place. Then we can focus on stuff at the new house. :)
Can't believe it's only day 4... Missing Stu like crazy, but excited that he's lovin on peeps in Otutulu.
Stu, Asa and I want to know how the mosquitoes are? What's the food taste like? How many new best friends to you have? We love you and miss your hugs and kisses! Send pics... Love you, Dev & Ace
