Superhero vs Monster

Growing up, we had no cable. Only bunny ears. This means we had three channels assuming the weather was good and we'd been living right. One show that I tried to watch was
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. To a ten year old, this show had it all.
  • Evil Villains (Check)
  • X-Ray, Heat-Emitting, Telescopic, Infra-Red & Microscopic Vision (Check)
  • Damsel in distress (Check)
I remember thinking to myself "I wish I was a superhero! Super powers are sweet!" I personally think I would have made fantastic superhero (minus the tights).

Today, I realized that maybe my prayers were answered...sort of. No, I did not wake up this morning with the ability to fly through oxygen less environments to prevent giant meteorites from crashing into Earth. However, Asa did.

Asa's three favorite things in the whole wide world are:
  1. His grandparents.
  2. Cookies.
  3. Mr. Bear (a teddy bear from his Aunt Tootie & Uncle Natty)
Today, Dev thought it would be cute to have a monster eat Mr. Bear. Why she figured it was a good idea to tease our child with the sight of his beloved Mr. Bear being devoured by this creature is beyond me.

This monster is ferocious. It's got three eyes, four arms and the entire body is blue! He would no doubt be a troubling match for any superhero.

Asa heard the news of Mr. Bear being stuck in the pit of this beast and came running to the rescue. An epic battle ensued. Asa reached down deep in the monster's interds and pulled out his bestie from certain doom.

As if being manhandled by a 23 month old wasn't humiliating enough, Asa decided to borrow the monster for his halloween costume. Then a crowd of onlookers erupted into cheers and all was well again in the world!

Don't believe me? Proof is below...
